The Associated General Contractors of America’s (AGC) vision is to promote a better industry for the professionals who build America's future.

Located in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area, The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) is the leading association for the construction industry. Operating in partnership with its nationwide network of over 90 chartered Chapters, AGC provides a full range of services satisfying the needs and concerns of its members, thereby improving the quality of construction and protecting the public interest.

AGC was established in 1918 after a request by President Woodrow Wilson. Wilson recognized the construction industry's national importance and desired a partner with which the government could discuss and plan for the advancement of the nation. AGC has been fulfilling that mission for the last 90 years.

A full service national trade association with a nationwide network of exceptional chapters, AGC represents nearly 30,000 leading firms in the industry - including general contractors, specialty contractors and service providers and suppliers. AGC members play a powerful role in sustaining economic growth, in addition to producing structures that add to productivity and the nation's quality of life. American Road & Transportation Builders Association 

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) is a federation whose primary goal is to aggressively grow and protect transportation infrastructure investment to meet the public and business demand for safe and efficient travel. In support of this mission, ARTBA also provides programs and services designed to give its members a global competitive edge.

The transportation design and construction industry ARTBA represents generates more than $200 billion in U.S. economic activity annually and employs 2.5 million Americans.  On behalf of its 5,000+ members from the public and private sectors, ARTBA works to ensure its members' views and business concerns are addressed before Congress, the White House, federal agencies and news media. 

 

The Association of Union Constructors 

The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) is an association that provides networking opportunities with TAUC’s network of 2,500 union contractors, other Local Employer Organization members, and the Customer Caucus, a committee comprised of owners/construction users. In addition, TAUC’s provides assistance in the areas of labor relations, training and safety and health resources. 

This partnership improves chapter resources, expands networking, and provides the opportunity to participate in bi-yearly TAUC safety-labor forums. TAUC’s mission statement is, “To act as an advocate in advancing and enhancing the value of the union construction industry through an educated and action driven membership by fostering the promotion of labor-management cooperation, workplace safety and health, and collaboration with the construction users in order to help union contractors compete more effectively in the marketplace.”  TAUC has strong relationships with fourteen international unions, numerous construction owners, as well as other national construction trade associations.
